About Indiana Town Guide
Indiana Town Guide is a network of hometown directories and event guides serving Indiana communities. Each site is built independently, focused on a single town or a specific audience, and curated by someone who actually knows the area.
We started in early 2026 with New Palestine Guide — a community directory and events calendar for New Palestine, Indiana. A few weeks later we launched Indy Event Guide to help visitors navigate Indianapolis conventions, sports, and entertainment. Next up is Greenfield Town Guide, followed by Fortville, McCordsville, Cumberland, and more.
Why local guides?
Generic review sites don't know your town. Visit Indy is built for Indianapolis tourists. Yelp is a popularity contest. Google Maps is a list of names with no context. None of them tell you which restaurant's tenderloin is worth the drive, which contractor shows up on time, or which weekend festival you shouldn't miss.
Local guides are built by neighbors — the people who actually live in the community. Every listing, every recommendation, every event on these sites has been checked by someone who cares whether the information is right.
Who's behind this
Indiana Town Guide is a project of Iron Oak Sites. Matt Shores runs it — a former IMPD detective who spent 25 years walking downtown Indianapolis and now builds websites for small businesses and communities he cares about.
